PP Divya, who has been in remand for 11 days in the Puzhakkal women’s jail, was granted bail in the case concerning the death of Kannur ADM Naveen Babu. Thalassery Principal Sessions Court Judge Nisar Ahmed considered her bail plea.
Divya’s lawyer argued that she had cooperated with the investigation and requested bail. The defense acknowledged in court that the farewell meeting discussion could have been avoided, and claimed the allegations against ADM were circumstantial evidence of bribery and well-intentioned.
However, the prosecution and Naveen Babu’s family opposed the bail. Divya’s remand was set to expire on Tuesday.
