Tirur Deputy Tahsildar Chalib PB, who had gone missing on Wednesday evening, has spoken with his wife, stating that he is alone and struggling with mental stress. Chalib informed her in the morning that he was at a bus stand in Karnataka and would return home soon. The call reportedly originated from Karnataka. Chalib, a native of Mangattiri in Tirur, had been uncontactable since Wednesday evening.
Police expanded the search to Karnataka after his mobile tower location was traced to Udupi. He had informed his family that he would be late leaving the office that evening, but when he did not return, his family filed a complaint with Tirur police. His phone was last active around 2:02 AM before being switched off. Police also discovered that he had withdrawn ₹10,000 from an ATM.
