In the Athirappilly panchayat of Thrissur, the hartal has been declared until 6 PM under the leadership of various political parties and the joint people’s committee. Three people have been killed in elephant attacks in Athirappilly over the past two days. The bodies of Ambika and Satheesh, who died yesterday, were cremated around 8 PM. Yesterday morning, Ambika and Satheesh, natives of Vazhachal, were found dead following an elephant attack. The four-member group had gone into the forest to collect forest produce. When the elephant charged at them, they ran to escape.
