PV Anwar resigned as an MLA. He submitted his resignation letter to the Speaker in person. Anwar resigned from the assembly with one and a half years left to complete his term.
PV Anwar joined the Trinamool Congress yesterday. The Trinamool Congress announced that he accepted the membership from party general secretary Abhishek Banerjee. Anwar had spoken to Trinamool Congress president and Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over the phone ahead of joining the party.
It is reported that Anwar will be given the post of Trinamool’s Kerala coordinator. It is reported that Anwar has plans to bring Mamata Banerjee to Kerala and hold a rally. However, there is currently concern about Anwar’s MLA post. Anwar, an independent MLA, faces a problem of ineligibility if he joins another party before the end of the term of the assembly.
