Education Minister V. Sivankutty has confirmed the leak of the Plus One Mathematics and SSLC English Christmas exam question papers, describing it as a serious allegation. He assured that those responsible would be brought to justice, adding that a complaint has already been filed with the DGP.
The minister criticized YouTube channels and private tuition centers involved in leaking the papers, saying they see it as a means of short-term gain. “Sitting on YouTube and claiming cleverness over leaked papers is not to be praised. Question papers cannot be leaked without the involvement of those preparing and distributing them,” he stated.
Calling it a challenge to the public education system, Sivankutty said the government would not compromise on exam integrity. Action will be taken against YouTube channels that published the question papers. Details of public education department teachers working in private tuition centers are also being collected, and they too will be investigated.
A decision regarding the re-conduct of the leaked exams will be made later. The minister assured that this situation does not significantly impact students’ futures. He also noted that there are restrictions on teachers taking private tuitions, and actions have already been taken against violators. Further updates on the matter will be announced in due course.
