The proposed bill aims to synchronize Lok Sabha and State Assembly elections, followed by local body elections within 100 days. Union Law Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal will present the bill.
Considering the opposition’s demands, there is a consensus to refer the bill to a Joint Parliamentary Committee for detailed examination.
Meanwhile, opposition leader Rahul Gandhi is set to address the special session marking the 75th anniversary of the Constitution. Later in the evening, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also speak on the subject.The Constitution session in the Rajya Sabha is scheduled for Monday and Tuesday.
