It has been a year today since Siddique, the director of family hit films that made Malayali laugh to the brim. In his 37-year-long film career, he was distinguished by his unrepeatable humor in all the films he did, and his sudden demise is still a source of pain to his colleagues and close friends. On the occasion of the first death anniversary of Siddique, a memorial program was held in Ernakulam under the leadership of friends and fellow activists.
A book titled ‘Siddique Chiriyude rasathanthram’ by PA Mehboob and a picture of Siddique was unveiled at the Kalabhavan. Siddique, who started his career as an artist through mimicry at Kala Bhavan, in association with his best friend Lal presented many films with comedy and heart to the Malayalees. Siddique directed 13 Malayalam films on his own after leaving his collaboration with Lal. He also produced two films on his own.
