Kannur. Rice under the central government’s Bharat brand has been widely accepted in Kerala. 100 quintals of rice were harvested in one and a half hours in the fifth floor of Kalyasseri panchayat in Kannur. Demand is mostly for ten kg packs.
About a thousand people bought rice within hours. Meanwhile, there was a huge rush to buy Bharat rice in Alappuzha on Wednesday. Rice was provided on token basis to control overcrowding.
A sample of the rice is also displayed for people to check.
