Sabarimala opened for Vishu darshanam, Darshanam on 14th morning

Sabarimala Sri Dharmashasta temple grounds opened for Meda month pujas and Vishu festival. On Wednesday evening at 5 pm, the temple chief PN Mahesh Nambutiri opened the temple and lit the lamps under the leadership of the temple tantri Kantarar Mahesh Mohan. Lord Ganapati and Nagar, the sub-gods of the temple, also opened the Melashanti and lit the lamps. Then Tantri distributed Vibhuti Prasad to the devotees.

As the fire of peace shone on the abyss in front of the 18th step, the Ayyappa devotees with their hair tied in knots climbed the 18th step to see Ayya. Malikappuram Melshanthi Murali Namboothiri opened the Malikappuram temple and distributed turmeric powder prasad to the devotees. There were no special pujas in both the temples on the opening day.

The temple was opened at 5 am today. There will be ghee anointing from today. Tirunada will be opened on April 14, the day of Medam 1, at three in the morning. Followed by Vishukani darshan and offering of hands. Later, the regular abhishekam, ghee abhishekam and Ganapati homam will be performed.

Tirunada will be closed on April 18 after completing the pujas. Devasam Board, Government and KSRTC have provided facilities for the pilgrims. From yesterday, services have been started from various units of KSRTC to Pampa. There are pamba services from Thiruvananthapuram, Chengannur, Pathanamthitta, Kottarakkara, Erumeli and Punalur.
