The health department conducted the inspection focusing on migrant workers selling ice cream on two-wheelers, during which the presence of banned pan masala mixed in the ice cream was detected.
Officials found that the workers were tearing pan masala packets and mixing them into the water used to dip the spoons used for scooping the ice cream.
The confiscated ice cream was buried in the presence of local residents, and the vendor himself was made to cover it.
Health department officials stated that samples have been collected from the ice cream manufacturing company as well, and that legal action will be taken.
