Kochi: Bobby Chemmanur was granted bail yesterday in the complaint filed by actress Honey Rose alleging sexual harassment. However, he was seen in jail yesterday expressing solidarity with the prisoners. The High Court, which took the matter seriously, asked the defence lawyers to appear to explain the matter.
The new developments come as Bobby is set to be released from the Kakkanad District Jail this morning. Justice P.V. Kunjikrishnan, who considered the bail application yesterday morning, had granted bail and issued an order in this regard at 3.30 pm. However, even though the bail order was delivered to the jail, Bobby did not come out.
The explanation is that the release was postponed until today because the procedures were taking too long. However, some lawyers are also of the opinion that the release was postponed until today because there were other things going on yesterday, including the Sabarimala Makaravilakku, and it did not get the necessary media attention.
Meanwhile, while considering the bail application, the court had also examined some of the visuals of Bobby Chemmanur. This includes the one given by the prosecution and the one given by the actor. The court then asked why this man is doing all this. The court openly stated that what Bobby Chemmanur did was for a dual purpose. None of this should be said in public. There is no agreement with such actions. The High Court also clarified that it was out of their respect that they did not oppose Bobby at the event.
