Sharon Murder Case; Greeshma sentenced to death

Thiruvananthapuram: Greeshma, the prime accused in the Sharon Raj murder case has been sentenced to death. The verdict was delivered by Neyyattinkara Additional Sessions Court Judge A.M. Basheer. The court stated that Greeshma could not be granted leniency based on age, as she and Sharon were of the same age. The court commended the police for conducting a highly efficient investigation, noting that the inquiry was conducted in line with modern times and extending appreciation to all involved officers without naming anyone specifically.

In addition to murder, the court found Greeshma guilty of various other offenses, including abduction and destruction of evidence. It also determined that her uncle, Nirmala Kumaran Nair, had destroyed evidence. The prosecution had demanded the death penalty for Greeshma, while she pleaded for maximum leniency in sentencing. Greeshma’s mother, the second accused in the case, was acquitted due to lack of evidence.

On October 14, 2022, Greeshma invited Sharon to her house and gave him a herbal concoction laced with poison. He passed away on October 25, 2022.
