Kannur Additional District Magistrate (ADM) Naveen Babu was found dead at his residence in Pallikkunnu. Yesterday, District Panchayat President P.P. Divya had leveled corruption allegations against Naveen Babu. Senior police officials, including the Kannur ACP, arrived at the scene.
The allegations were raised during Naveen Babu’s farewell function. Divya made a dramatic appearance at the event, which she wasn’t officially invited to. She accused him of corruption in granting permission for a petrol pump in Chengalai.
The allegations were made while the District Collector and others were present on stage. Divya remarked that Naveen Babu should not act in such a manner at his next posting. She left the stage shortly after expressing her disapproval of presenting him with a farewell gift.
