Kochi: The first-ever ‘Amma Kudumba Sangamam’, organized by Malayalam film stars’ organization ‘Amma’, is taking place today. The extensive arts, sports and entertainment programs, put on by member artists, will run from 9 am to 10 pm at the Rajiv Gandhi Indoor Stadium.
The new move is being led by senior members Suresh Gopi, Mohanlal, and Mammootty, who are holding the first family reunion in the organization’s history.
The family reunion is being organized by a temporary committee after the governing body was dissolved following sexual allegations. The rehearsal camp was held at the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Kochi yesterday.
The lamp was lit by veteran Malayalam actor, director and screenwriter Sreenivasan and new generation star Mamita Baiju. This is the first time in the 30-year history of AMMA that AMMA members and their families are coming together.
