Thiruvananthapuram: A tragic accident in Vizhinjam claimed the life of 49-year-old Sathi, a resident of Pozhikara, when a fishing boat capsized in rough seas. Three of her relatives—Sudheesh, Ratheesh, and Sudhakaran—sustained injuries in the incident.
Sudheesh suffered severe injuries to his head and chest and is currently in the intensive care unit. The accident occurred early this morning as the group was returning to shore after fishing. The boat was struck by strong waves, causing it to break apart and throw the occupants into the sea.
The front section of the boat was completely destroyed in the incident. Sathi’s body has been shifted to the Medical College Hospital mortuary.
