Subaida Murder Case: Accused Transferred to Mental Health Facility

In the case of the mother, Subaida, being murdered by her son in Thamarassery, the accused, Ashiq, has been transferred to the Kuthiravattam Mental Health Center after exhibiting signs of mental instability in jail. Following this, the police will file a custody application in the Thamarassery court today to secure his detention.

According to the police, the murder was triggered by a dispute over money that Ashiq was not provided. Ashiq, responding to the charges, stated that the murder was a punishment for his mother giving him life.

The incident occurred on January 18, when Ashiq fatally stabbed his mother, Subaida. The argument reportedly started when Subaida questioned why Ashiq had not returned home, and escalated further when she refused to give him the money he demanded. Ashiq then purchased a machete, claiming he needed it to cut coconuts, and committed the murder.

Neighbors, upon hearing the cries for help, rushed to the scene only to find Subaida lying on the ground, and despite efforts to save her, she succumbed to her injuries. Ashiq had been enrolled in an auto mobile course after completing his Plus Two, but family members claim he became addicted to drugs after joining college.
