Alappuzha: Suspension of three teachers in the incident of 13-year-old’s suicide. The action was taken in the case of AM Prajith, a 7th class student of Kattur Holy Family Visitation Public School and son of Manoj-Meera couple, committed suicide. It is alleged that PT took his own life because of the teacher’s punishment.
The Child Welfare Committee will take the statements of the teachers today. The police had taken the statements of the classmates of the school. The Child Rights Commission said that the SP has been asked for a detailed investigation.
According to the classmates, Prajit and another classmate were scolded and beaten with a cane by the PT teacher, Prajit, who came late for the last period of the school. After the beating, the student came home and committed suicide.
According to his classmates, Prajith reached home after leaving school in severe depression. When his elder brother Pranav, a Plus One student, came from school, he saw his younger brother hanging in his school uniform. He was rushed to the hospital, but he was dead by then.
