Chennai: Tamil director and actor S.S.Stanley (57) has passed away. Tamil media reports that he had been facing health problems for the past few days. He passed away in Chennai. The funeral will be held in Chennai this evening.
S.S.Stanley was born in Munnar in 1967. He directed his first film, ‘April Mathathil’, in 2002. This college love story film starring Srikanth and Sneha was a box office success. He also directed the film Pudukkottaiyiru Saravanan, starring Dhanush in the lead role. A total of four films were released under the direction of S.S. Stanley.
In early 2015, S.S. Stanley had decided to direct a film titled Adam’s Apple for AR Murugadoss’ production house. He also planned to cast Vaibhav and Andrea Jeremiah in the lead roles. However, this project did not materialize. He played the role of Annadurai in the film ‘Periyar’. He also acted in films like ‘Raavanan’ and ‘Sarkar’. His last film was ‘Maharaja’, which was released in 2024.
