Temperature to Rise in Kerala Today and Tomorrow

The India Meteorological Department has issued a warning stating that temperatures will rise across Kerala today and tomorrow. The temperature may increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in isolated areas, with the combination of high temperatures and humid air causing discomfort and heat stress.

The rising heat poses serious health risks, including heat strokes, dehydration, and sunburns. The State Disaster Management Authority has issued safety guidelines in response to the extreme heat conditions.

Important Guidelines:
. Avoid direct sunlight for prolonged periods, especially between 11 AM and 3 PM
. Drink plenty of water, even if you don’t feel thirsty
. Avoid alcohol, coffee, tea, and carbonated soft drinks during the day
. Wear light-colored, loose-fitting cotton clothes
. Wear footwear and use hats or caps when outdoors
. Eat plenty of fruits and vegetables
. Oral Rehydration Solutions (ORS) and electrolytes can be used to stay hydrated
. Be cautious of forest fires; those living or traveling near forest areas should remain alert
. Schools should ensure access to clean drinking water and good ventilation for students
. Those working outdoors should adjust work hours and take adequate rest breaks
