Actor Siddique granted anticipatory bail by the Supreme Court in the rape case. Justices Bela M. A bench of Trivedi and Satish Chandra granted anticipatory bail with conditions. Earlier, Siddique approached the Supreme Court after the High Court rejected his bail plea.
A petition opposing the bail for Siddique, filed by the survivor and the state government, had reached the court. The incident that led to the case occurred in 2016. It is alleged that in connection with a preview show of a film, the young actress was called to a room at the Mascot Hotel in Thiruvananthapuram, where she was locked in and raped.
