The governor signed five bills that were under consideration for months

Thiruvananthapuram: Governor Arif Muhammad Khan signed the bills which were under consideration for months. The governor has signed five bills including the land law amendment bill. The bills passed by the legislature were under the consideration of the governor.

The governor has now signed five bills that are free of controversy. The university bill, which had a disagreement with the government, has been sent to the President for consideration. The governor had no differences of opinion with the government on all the five bills signed so far.

When the farmers of Idukki raised concerns, the Chief Secretary was sought an explanation only on the Land Amendment Bill. A study was conducted and a report was submitted. There was no other concern in the report that warranted withholding of the bill. It has been six months since the Chief Secretary’s report was received at Raj Bhavan. But the bill was kept by the governor. The disputed bills are left for the consideration of the President. The decision should come from the center.
