Kochi: The High Court rejected the government’s plea to cancel actor Dileep’s bail in the actress assault case. A bench of Justice Sophie Thomas passed the judgment on the petition. Actor Dileep is the eighth accused in the case of kidnapping and harassing the actress and filming obscene scenes.
The government alleged that after being released on bail, Dileep tried to influence the witnesses and tried to tamper with the evidence. The government had initially approached the trial court seeking cancellation of Dileep’s bail, but it was rejected. Then the High Court was approached.
Dileep, in his reply in the High Court, stated that the allegations made by the government in the petition are baseless and the court has rejected this demand many times before.
