Kochi. Thousands perform Balitarpanam at Aluva Manappuram on the occasion of Shivaratri. The Bali Tarpana ceremonies started at midnight on Friday and will continue till Sunday. Balitharpanam continues till Sunday afternoon when the new moon of Kubham month ends.
There was a huge rush of devotees in Aluva on Friday morning. 116 altars of the Devaswom Board were auctioned. A facility has been prepared to perform sacrifices for 5000 people at a time.
The temple is crowded with devotees since Friday morning. 1250 policemen have been assigned for security. Traffic control will continue till 2 pm on Saturday.
