Thrissur pooram: Rapid Response Team will be deployed to control elephants

Thrissur: The new order requires 80 RRT teams to control the elephants. The order says that forest department doctors should also examine the elephants. Devaswams protested that the conditions were impractical. In addition to veterinary doctors, forest department doctors should also check the elephants in the new order.

Eighty RRT members should be appointed to control the elephants. Paramekkav and Tiruvambadi Devaswams demanded that the Chief Minister intervene and withdraw the order if the Pooram is to be held. Elephant owners are also not ready to implement the new order. The elephant owners also clarified that they will not release the elephants for Puram without withdrawing the order.

After the elephant owners and Devaswam came forward against the restrictions imposed the other day, the restrictions were relaxed. The authorities were ready to relax the restriction that nothing should be allowed within 50 meters of the elephant standing.
