Search for Arjun Enters 11th Day as Recovery Efforts for Missing Truck Continue

The Navy will continue its efforts today to recover the truck of Arjun, a native of Kozhikode, who fell into the Gangavali river following a landslide. Scuba divers can go down the river only if the weather is favorable. There is a strong current in the river as the rain continues. The District Collector had stated that we should wait for it to decrease and there is no other way. Weather is a hindrance to delivery including dredgers. An orange alert has been announced in the district for the next three days from today.

Navy divers will check for human remains in the truck under the river and if the truck can be hooked up and pulled out. The ipod brought from Delhi has pinpointed the location of the truck more accurately yesterday. The truck is 60 meters away from the road and is 8 to 10 meters deep.

It was found that the truck was in a state where the cabin and the lorry were not separated at a depth of at least five meters. A team of Navy divers could not even anchor the boats in the middle of the river yesterday due to the heavy current in the river. Uttara Kannada district is on orange alert today.
