Thiruvananthapuram: Transport Minister KB Ganesh Kumar has instructed the KSRTC bus drivers not to run competitively. He said that the number of accidents can be reduced by paying attention to certain things. Ganesh Kumar said this through a video shared on the official Facebook page of KSRTC.
There is an allegation that KSRTC buses cause more accidents. There is no other agency in Kerala that drives as many vehicles as we do. The number of accidents will depend on this. But we can reduce it. In recent years, there has been a reduction in accidents after taking a stand against drunk driving and increasing the number of tests.
Five to seven deaths occur in the state in a week due to KSRTC bus crashes. But this week’s figures showed a decline in the number of major accidents. However, there are minor accidents. No deaths have been reported from Swift buses in recent weeks. Drive very carefully. Especially young people are told to ride Swift buses. Do not speed up and race with other buses while traveling long distances.
The masters of the bus are the traveling public. Then do not drive in such a way as to frighten the passengers. Time must be observed. If we do this, people will come to travel with faith. Be careful not to cause any kind of danger to those coming in small vehicles. Avoid competing with private buses. Sometimes it even leads to the death of those standing on the road.
The bus should stop on the left side of the road. Do not stop parallel to the oncoming bus. He said that the bus should be stopped if the hand is raised and the bus should be driven in such a way as to save diesel.
