Kochi: The Ernakulam Additional District Sessions Court has sentenced two individuals, including a woman, to 10 years of imprisonment in a drug trafficking case.
The accused, Soosimol Sunny, a native of Chingavanam, Kottayam—popularly known as “Thumbippen” among drug users and dealers—and Ameer Husail from Aluva, were found guilty and sentenced accordingly.
In October 2023, 350 grams of MDMA and Susimol were smuggled in a car from the Kaloor Stadium area. The drug was supplied to them by a Himachal-based gang.
The drugs brought to Kochi by plane are usually placed in envelopes and discarded as waste. The people in Kochi would collect the drugs from the airport premises, following the signal given by the Himachal gang on WhatsApp. Susy and her gang would hand over the drugs to agents in the city.
