As the BJP celebrates sweeping victories in Maharashtra and Jharkhand, Union Home Minister Amit Shah has renewed the party’s commitment to introducing the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) and reforming existing Waqf laws. Shah’s remarks, delivered during public meetings in both states, have gained renewed significance following the BJP’s electoral success.
Shah emphasized that the current Waqf laws would be repealed and replaced with new legislation, ensuring fairness and uniformity. Despite anticipated resistance from opposition parties and religious fundamentalists, Shah declared that no force could prevent these reforms from being implemented. He also assured that the changes would be passed in the current parliamentary session.
Reaffirming the BJP’s long-standing stance, Shah stated that the Uniform Civil Code would soon become a reality, creating a single legal framework for all citizens, regardless of religion. “One law for all citizens is the need of the hour, and no force will be able to oppose its implementation,” Shah asserted.
The proposed UCC and Waqf reforms remain central to the BJP’s agenda, symbolizing their commitment to legislative uniformity and social reform across India.
