Union Minister Suresh Gopi distributed free Pongala kits to ASHA workers who are continuing their protest in front of the Secretariat in Thiruvananthapuram. Yesterday morning, while traveling, he visited the protest site and assured that kits would be provided. By evening, under the leadership of party workers, essential items such as rice, jaggery, banana bunches, and coconuts were delivered to the protest venue for around a hundred people.
ASHA workers stated that this is not a protest Pongala but a prayer for a change of heart from the government. Suresh Gopi said that he stands by the ASHA workers and that only good should happen to them.
When asked about the meeting between Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, he responded, “Do not ask me anything about that. My path is different.”
