Thodupuzha: Vigilance register FIR against MLA Mathew Kuzhalnadan in land encroachment case in Chinnakanal. Mathew Kuzhalnadan is the 16th accused out of 21 accused in the case. FIR that Mathew Kuzhalnadan bought the land despite knowing that there was an irregularity.
The FIR was registered by the Idukki Vigilance Unit yesterday evening. Muvatupuzha will be submitted to the vigilance court today. 2012 Devikulam Tehsildar Shaji is the first accused in the case.
The news about Mathew Kuzhalnadan’s land deal in Chinnakanaal comes with the complaint of CPM Ernakulam district secretary that the land registration was done on the basis of lower price.
In 2021, one acre twenty-three cents of land and buildings in Chinnakanaal were bought in the name of Mathew Kuzhalnadan and two natives of Pathanamthitta in three bases. Mathew Kuzhalnadan defended this on the grounds that the government had shown more than the price fixed. Mathew Kuzhalnadan’s argument was that it was a revenge hunt for taking a stand against the Chief Minister.
