Wild Elephant attack in Wayanad; Parked bike and car destroyed

Panamaram: A parked car and a bike were destroyed by wild elephant. Police officer Mundakkal Ajesh’s vehicles were vandalized in Natakwayal Neikuppa, Wayanad. The incident happened last night. The vehicles were parked on the way home.

The elephant trampled the front of the car and rammed the back. The tarpaulin sheet covering the car was torn. The bike near the car was also trampled. Residents of Neikuppa said that elephants used to break vehicles parked in their backyards. Auto, bike and car were destroyed by the elephant a few weeks ago.

Forest officials reached the spot and conducted an inspection. It should be taken seriously that such an attack occurs in a residential area. Wildlife attacks are increasing in the state. Such attacks do not occur only in areas close to forests. Last day, the presence of wildlife was confirmed near the Kannur International Airport.
