Dubai: ICC has announced the venue of the World Test Championship final. England is the venue for the final this time too. Next year, Lord’s, the legendary venue in England, will be the venue for the final of the World Test Championship from June 11 to 15. The 16th has been declared as the reserve day for the final. Although England has hosted the last two World Test Championship finals, this is the first time that Lord’s has hosted the title contest.
The World Test Championship final was held at Southampton in 2021 and at The Oval in 2023. India reached the final twice and lost to New Zealand in 2021 and Australia in 2023. This time too, India and Australia are currently leading the World Test Championship points table. India came first with 74 points and a win percentage of 68.52, including six wins, two losses and one draw in nine Tests. India and Bangladesh will face each other in a two-match Test series from the 19th of this month.
India will play a three-match series against New Zealand next month and a five-match series against Australia in November and December. India can secure the final if they win this series. After reaching the final of the World Test Championship, India will also play a five-Test series against England from the 19th.
