In the ongoing investigation of ADM Naveen Babu’s death, a lookout notice has been issued against former Kannur District Panchayat President P.P. Divya. The Youth Congress Kannur District Committee has announced a reward of ₹1 lakh for anyone who provides information leading to her capture. This announcement was shared by Congress Kerala on their X (formerly Twitter) page.
The notice urges those who locate Divya to inform the nearest police station or Congress office. Despite a week passing since the case was filed against Divya, her arrest has not yet been made, sparking protests.
Symbolic lookout notices were posted by Youth Congress workers outside Kannur Town Police Station, the District Panchayat office gate, and the Central Hall’s information counter. The posters read, “P.P. Divya (40), Crime Number: 1149/24, Charged with defamation and murder of an honest officer. Inform the nearest police station.”
Tensions rose as a large flex board was installed outside the police station, leading to confrontations with the police. Following the incident, a protest was led by Youth Congress State Vice President Robert George Vellarvalli, who accused the government of protecting Divya from arrest.
He also alleged that Divya is hiding at a resort in Palakkayam Thattu and that the police are aware of this but have failed to take action, accusing them of a government cover-up. Further protests included attempts to post the lookout notice on a police jeep. The visuals of protestors demanding Divya’s arrest have gone viral.
