Thiruvananthapuram: Railways has allowed special train services and additional stops in connection with Attukal Pongala. The timings of some trains have also been rearranged. The special train (06077) departing from Ernakulam Junction at 1.30 am on March 13 will reach Thiruvananthapuram Central at 6.30 am.
The special train (06078) departing from Thiruvananthapuram at 2.15 pm on the 13th will arrive back in Ernakulam at 7.40 pm. The timings of other trains and the details of the temporary stops allowed are as follows.
The Kanyakumari-Punalur Passenger (56706) departing on March 13 has been allowed to stop at Chirayinkeezhu, Kadakkavoor, Edava and Mayyanad. Thiruvananthapuram – Chennai Central Superfast Express (12624) at Kazhakoottam, Kadakkavoor, Chirayinkeezhu stations, Thiruvananthapuram – Chennai Central Superfast Express (12696) at Kazhakoottam, Kadakkavoor stations, Nagercoil – Mangalore Parasuram Express (16650) at Balaramapuram, Thiruvananthapuram South stations, Nagercoil – Mangalore Parasuram Express (16650) at Balaramapuram, Thiruvananthapuram South railway stations, Kollam – Chennai Egmore Express (20636) – Thiruvananthapuram South, Balaramapuram, Dhanuvachhapuram, Pallyadi stations, Shalimar – Thiruvananthapuram Express (22641) at Mararikulam, Thuravoor stations, Thiruvananthapuram – Mangalore Malabar Express (16629) – Mayyanad Temporary stops were also allowed at the station.
The Mangalore-Thiruvananthapuram Express (16348) departing on March 12 will stop at Kadakkavur station, the Madurai-Punalur Express (16729) at Palliyadi, Kuzhithura, Balaramapuram and Thiruvananthapuram South stations, the Mangalore Central-Kanyakumari Express (16649) at Mayyanad and Kadakkavur stations, the Shoranur-Thiruvananthapuram-Venad Express (16301) at Murukkumpuzha station, the Mangalore-Thiruvananthapuram Eranad Express (16605) at Mararikulam, the Nagercoil-Kottayam Express will stop at Nagercoil Town, Veeranallur, Palliyadi, Kuzhithura West, Dhanuvachhapuram, Amaravila and Balaramapuram stations, and the Kanyakumari-Punalur Passenger (56706) at Nagercoil Town, Veeranallur, Palliyadi. Temporary stoppages at Kuzhithura West and Amaravila stations, Guruvayur- Chennai Egmore Express (16128) at Thuravoor, Mararikulam, Ambalapuzha and Haripad stations, Madurai- Thiruvananthapuram Express (16344) at Paravoor, Kadakkavoor, North Chirayinkeezhu, Murukkumpuzha and Petta stations, Mangalore-Thiruvananthapuram Express (16603) at Thuravoor, Mararikulam and Petta stations, Chennai Central-Thiruvananthapuram Superfast Express (12695) at Paravoor, Kadakkavoor, Chirayinkeezhu and Petta stations, Mangalore-Thiruvananthapuram Malabar Express (16630) at Mayyanad station, and Mysore-Thiruvananthapuram North Express (16315) at Thuravoor and Mararikulam stations. Allowed.
New Delhi-Thiruvananthapuram Kerala Express (12626) departing on March 10 has been allowed to stop temporarily at Ettumanoor, Paravur and Chirayinkeezhu stations and Srimata Vaishno Devi-Kanyakumari Himasagar Express at Neyyattinkara, Parasala, Iranial and Nagercoil Town stations. Lokmanyatilak-Thiruvananthapuram Netravati Express (16345) departing on March 11 has been allowed to stop temporarily at Thuravoor, Mararikulam, Paravur and Kadakkavur stations and Secunderabad-Thiruvananthapuram Express (17230) has been allowed to stop temporarily at Irinjalakuda, Chalakudy, Angamaly, Kalady, Tripunithura, Ettumanoor, Paravur, Kadakkavur and Chirayinkeezhu stations. The Mangalore Express (16525) departing from Kanyakumari at 10.10 am on the 13th will depart one hour late at 11.10 am. The Nagercoil Passenger (56310) departing from Thiruvananthapuram North at 1.25 pm on the 13th will depart 35 minutes late at 2.00 pm.
