Prime Minister Narendra Modi has left for Mauritius on a two-day visit. He will be the chief guest at the 57th National Day celebrations of Mauritius tomorrow.
The visit is at the special invitation of the Prime Minister of Mauritius, Dr. Navinchandra Ramgoolam. All 34 ministers of Mauritius will arrive at the airport to receive the Prime Minister. The Prime Minister will interact with the Indian community there.
During his visit to the island nation, Prime Minister Modi will inaugurate more than 20 Indian-funded projects ranging from capacity building to community-related infrastructure. He is also expected to announce new infrastructure projects aimed at strengthening democracy in the southeast African island nation.
Prime Minister Modi will also inaugurate the newly constructed Civil Services College building along with Mauritian Prime Minister Naveen Ramgoolam. The project, built at a cost of approximately US$ 4.75 million, is a symbol of India’s support to Mauritius.
