Ayodhya Ram Temple’s Chief Priest Acharya Satyendra Das Passes Away

Acharya Satyendra Das (85), the chief priest of the Ayodhya Ram temple, passed away. He was undergoing treatment in a hospital following a mental breakdown. He was undergoing treatment at the Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Lucknow. He had been undergoing treatment since last Sunday.

The other day, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited him in the hospital and assessed his condition. At the age of 20, he joined the Nirvani Aghada and took monastic vows. Many prominent figures in the country expressed their condolences on his demise.

Mahant Satyendar Das was the chief priest of the Ram temple from December 6, 1992, after the demolition of the temple. He had taken up asceticism at the age of 20.
