Firing by the Pakistani army once again along the Line of Control in Kashmir. This is the eighth consecutive day that the Pakistani army has opened fire without any provocation. The firing occurred in the areas of Kupwara, Baramulla, Poonch, Naushera, and Akhnoor. Officials reported that the Indian army retaliated. No casualties have been reported.
Relations between India and Pakistan had already deteriorated after it was confirmed that the Pakistan-based terror group Lashkar-e-Taiba was behind the Pahalgam terror attack. In response to the attack, India took stern measures against Pakistan, including the cancellation of the Indus Waters Treaty and asking Pakistani nationals to leave India. Following this, Pakistan cancelled all bilateral agreements with India. Subsequently, Pakistan began firing along the border.
