A baby girl was born on board IndiGo’s Bengaluru-Jaipur flight mid-air this morning with the help of cabin crew and a doctor, according to an airline statement. “A baby girl was born mid-air on board flight 6E 469 from Bangalore to Jaipur. The baby was delivered with the help of the IndiGo crew, effectively assisted by Dr. Subahana Nazir, travelling with us on the same flight,” the airline’s statement noted.
As soon as this happened, the Jaipur airport was asked to arrange for a doctor and an ambulance on the flight’s arrival so that the baby and mother can get immediate medical help. The flight started at around 5:45 am in the morning and landed in Bengaluru at 8 am. Dr Subahana Nazir, who helped deliver the baby, was welcomed into the arrival hall and a ‘Thank You’ card was handed over by our Jaipur staff. The incident highlighted the achievements of ‘great teamwork’ by all people involved.
