A tiger captured by the Forest Department in Idukki, has died

A tiger captured by the Forest Department in Vandiperiyar, Idukki, has died. The tiger succumbed shortly after being tranquilized. During the operation, the tiger attacked forest officials, damaging an officer’s helmet. In self-defense, the team fired shots. The tiger appeared to be completely exhausted. The post-mortem examination is scheduled for tomorrow.

The tiger was spotted near the Laayam area in a tea plantation during a drone-assisted survey. A team led by veterinary doctor Anuraj administered the tranquilizer. Recently, the tiger had killed a cow belonging to local resident Narayanan and a dog owned by Balamurukan in Aranakallu near Vandiperiyar.
