The government has halted the release of Bhaskara Karanavar murder case accused Sherin. The cabinet’s decision was put on hold following allegations of external pressure. Even after two months of making the decision, the report has not been submitted to the Governor.
Sherin had also been involved in a controversy for assaulting a fellow inmate in jail.
A complaint was submitted to the Governor requesting to block the release. The government has received indications that the Governor might seek an explanation.
