Bribery Case; Vigilance Records the Arrest of Ernakulam RTO TM Jerson

Kochi: The Vigilance raid at the residence of Ernakulam RTO TM Jerson lasted for more than 20 hours. The raid at his house in Elamakkara has now been completed. The Vigilance team found deposits worth over ₹80 lakh during the operation. Following this, Jerson was officially arrested by the Vigilance department. He will be produced in court this afternoon.

Around 80 bottles of foreign liquor were also seized, along with documents related to land properties. The action was based on a complaint that Jerson had accepted a bribe for renewing a bus’s temporary permit. Earlier, agents Ramappadiyar and Saji, who allegedly facilitated the bribe transaction, were taken into custody.

The case pertains to the renewal of the temporary permit for a bus operating on the Fort Kochi–Chellanam route. A search was also conducted yesterday at Jerson’s residence in Edappally.
