The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) informed the Kerala High Court that it is prepared to investigate the death of former Kannur ADM K. Naveen Babu if directed by the court. The CBI’s statement came in response to the High Court’s query on whether it was willing to take up the case. A detailed reply will be submitted by the CBI on December 12 after reviewing the government’s affidavit.
The Kerala government, however, reiterated its stance against a CBI probe, stating that the police investigation is progressing in the right direction. The government assured the court that the inquiry will be completed with the full confidence of Naveen’s family.
The petition for a CBI investigation was filed by Naveen’s wife, Manjusha, who suspects foul play and believes her husband’s death could be a case of murder. The case will be taken up again on December 12.
