Alappuzha: CPI(M) leader and district panchayat member Bipin C. Babu from Kayamkulam has joined the BJP. He was inducted into the party by state president K. Surendran. Bipin stated that he was inspired by Narendra Modi’s developmental initiatives and predicted that more members from CPI(M) would switch to BJP.
Bipin had been suspended from the CPI(M) last year following a domestic violence complaint filed by his wife. The action was taken based on the directive of CPI(M) state secretary M.V. Govindan, after a meeting of the Kayamkulam area committee.
