Amid the widespread Corona crisis across the country, the Delhi BJP on Tuesday announced the names of mayors and deputy mayors for the three municipal corporations of the capital Delhi. The party is in majority in all the three municipal corporations.
The BJP has appointed Jai Prakash as the Mayor of North Delhi Municipal Corporation ((NDMC)), while Ritu Goyal has been given the responsibility of Deputy Mayor. At the same time, Nirmal Jain’s name has been announced for the post of Mayor of East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) and Hariprakash Bahadur has been made the Deputy Mayor. The name of Anamika Mithilesh has been announced for the post of Mayor of South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC), while Subhash Bhadana has been made the Deputy Mayor.

Apart from these, the names of the Chairman Standing Committee, Deputy Chairman Standing Committee, Leader House, and the Chairmen and Vice Presidents of all the zones have also been announced.
Significantly, the term of the three mayors ended in the last week of March. The mayor’s election was to be held at the first House meeting in April, but due to the Corona epidemic, it could not be held in May either.
