Thiruvananthapuram: The final picture of the candidates for the Lok Sabha elections has been released. There are 194 candidates in the contest. yesterday was the last day to withdraw nomination papers. Kottayam constituency has the highest number of candidates (14). Alathur has the least number of candidates (5). Kozhikode has 13 candidates, Kollam and Kannur have 12 candidates each.

Out of 194 candidates in the entire state, 25 are women. Men 169. Vadakara has the highest number of women competing. There are four candidates. There are 10 candidates in the contest in the constituency. Abdul Rahim, the former office-bearer of Congress who came to contest against Shafi Parampil, has withdrawn his paper. CPM candidate KK. Shailaja has three aparas namely Shailaja K, Shailaja KK and Shailaja P.

A total of 290 people had submitted their papers, but due to scrutinization, 86 people’s papers were rejected due to irregularities. Then 204 people were in the competition. But today (Monday) ten people withdrew their papers, bringing the number of candidates to 194. Polling in the state is on April 26. Counting of votes on June 4.

The final voter list of the state for the Lok Sabha elections has also been prepared. There are 2.77 crore (2,77,49,159) voters in this final electoral roll across the state. There is an increase of 6.49 lakh (6,49,833) voters from the final electoral roll published on January 22. Meanwhile, 2,01,417 people were left out in the voter list purge.
