Kochi: Om Prakash was arrested from a five-star hotel in Kochi for possession of narcotics. According to the police remand report, actors Sreenath Bhasi and Prayaga Martin had visited Om Prakash’s room, where around 20 people were reportedly present. The room had been booked under the name Bobby Chalapathi. The investigation team plans to question those who visited the room.
Om Prakash and co-accused Shihas were granted bail by the court, as the prosecution failed to prove the use of cocaine. Only a wrapper containing cocaine was recovered during the raid, which led the court to grant bail, despite police requesting two-day custody for further questioning.
Om Prakash was arrested following a tip-off about a drug party at the hotel. He is also implicated in several other serious cases, including the infamous Paul George murder case, and has over 20 criminal cases registered against him, ranging from murder to drug trafficking. The investigation is ongoing.
