Every Hindu Prioritizes Their Faith; Rajeev Chandrasekhar Criticizes Sindhu Sooryakumar

Amid strong criticism against Asianet for mocking the participation of Malayalis in the Maha Kumbh Mela, channel chief Rajeev Chandrasekhar has responded. Senior journalist Sindhu Sooryakumar has been accused of making derogatory remarks about the event and Hindu beliefs.

Chandrasekhar stated on social media that many people had raised complaints, expressing their disappointment over Asianet News’ coverage of the Maha Kumbh Mela. He also hinted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi might intervene in the matter.

“There were millions of devotees at the event, including my family. I have brought this issue to the attention of the channel’s leadership. I have also instructed that no careless statements or mockery should be made about a religious gathering that holds deep significance for millions of believers,” said Chandrasekhar.

Rajeev Chandrasekhar’s Social Media Statement:

“I received numerous messages from Malayalis expressing their pain over an Asianet News program related to the Maha Kumbh Mela. They felt that the program mocked the event. Among the millions of devotees who attended, my family was also present.

I have raised this concern with the top management of Asianet News. I have urged that no careless or disrespectful remarks be made about such a significant religious gathering attended by millions of believers. Just like in any religion, every Hindu deeply values their faith. We, the millions of Hindus across India, including Kerala, expect our beliefs to be respected.”
