Temporary Relief: Stay on Lower Court Order to File Case Against Madhabi Puri Buch

New Delhi: The Mumbai High Court has temporarily stayed the lower court’s order to file a case against former SEBI chairperson Madhabi Puri Buch. The directive issued by the Special Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) court in Mumbai has been put on hold until the final verdict is reached. The ACB court had earlier ordered an investigation against Madhabi Puri Buch and five other officials.

The court’s directive was based on findings that called for a thorough investigation into allegations of stock market fraud during Buch’s tenure as a SEBI board member. In response, all six individuals approached the High Court, which has stayed the lower court’s order for four weeks.
