Express train collides with goods train in West Bengal’s Darjeeling, many passengers injured Kanchenjunga Express traveling from Silchar in Assam to Sealda in Kolkata was hit by a goods train from behind near Rangapani station near New Jalpaiguri. 2 coaches of the train were derailed. It is reported that many people are trapped inside the broken coach. Rescue operation is going on.
West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee described the accident on social media platform X. Disaster response teams have been dispatched to the site to carry out rescue operations and provide assistance to passengers.
Mamata Banerjee said she was shocked to learn about a tragic train accident in Fansidewa area of Darjeeling district. DM, SP, doctors, ambulances and disaster management teams have reached the spot for rescue operations.
