The Income Tax Department conducted raids at the residences and offices of prominent Telugu film producers. Separate teams carried out searches at the premises of Yerneni Naveen, owner of Mythri Movie Makers, producers of Pushpa 2, and Dil Raju, producer of Game Changer.
Mythri Movie Makers and Dil Raju’s SV Creations are two major production houses known for producing big-budget films in the Telugu and Tamil film industries. Game Changer, directed by Shankar and starring Ram Charan, was made with a budget of approximately ₹400 crores. Although the film did not perform as expected, Dil Raju’s other film, Sankranti Vastram, was a massive hit.
Meanwhile, Pushpa 2, starring Allu Arjun, is set to become the highest-grossing Indian film of 2024. The film, made on a massive budget, is nearing ₹2,000 crores at the box office.
